Weddings are special moments, and nothing is more magical than a winter wedding. It’s always fun to get dressed up for a wedding, but figuring out what you’re going to wear isn’t always as fun – especially when you’re like me and wait till the night before the wedding to buy a dress. I probably had something in my closet I could wear, but that didn’t stop me from spending hours on Friday night going from fitting room to fitting room frantically trying on countless dresses which were just. not. right. I finally ended up buying 3 dresses, which is typical, because I’m non-committal and never know which dress I’d regret not getting the morning of the event. So I came home and tried on all three dresses for my boyfriend, who lovingly joked that I should just go naked. So helpful 😉
I knew I picked the right dress when the groom’s sister and her husband (and several other people) complimented me and asked me where my dress was from. I always feel like I have some devilish secret when I admit my outfit is from Forever 21. Like I did something wrong, but so right at the same time. You’d never guess my dress was $30.
So the moral of the story is don’t be afraid to wear color to winter weddings. I noticed one too many women in black dresses, which just seems so sad and dreary for such an exciting and monumental culmination of love. And don’t forget to bring a jacket because even in California, it gets chilly.
